Prof. DDr. Martin Faschingbauer, MBA Specialist in Endoprosthetics in Vienna

I am an orthopedic surgeon and trauma specialist with many years of clinical and scientific experience. As a private orthopedic specialist in Vienna, I place particular emphasis on thorough diagnostics, clear indication setting, and individually tailored treatment. My medical focus lies in the endoprosthetics of major joints, particularly the hip and knee.

About me

During my medical studies in Vienna, it became clear to me that I was drawn to orthopedics. Sport and mobility had already been central themes in my life from a young age.

I played football for Austria Wien and was a member of the Austrian national team from U16 to U19 level.

After the end of my athletic career, and alongside my medical training, I began to explore the limits of the musculoskeletal system in depth — not only from a physician’s perspective, but also from a personal one.

Due to my own degenerative hip condition and postoperative experiences, I know what pain, rehabilitation, and the desire to return to an active life truly feel like.

These experiences continue to shape my approach to medicine to this day.

Human joints fascinate me.

As a specialist in endoprosthetics, I have performed more than 1,600 knee replacements and approximately 1,400 hip replacements to date. Even after many years of clinical practice, I remain committed to making therapeutic decisions in line with the latest scientific evidence and to critically integrating new, evidence-based developments into my work.

As a private physician with a particular focus on hip and knee surgery, I take advantage of the benefits of private medical care: sufficient time for detailed consultations, personal attention, and treatment without time pressure.

My goal is always to make medically sound decisions that ensure long-term function, stability, and quality of life.
